Scientists outside the lab

Hi all,

As you all know, I am on a mission to combine science and travel in my blog. But while I talk about finding science in travel, how cool are those who find travel in science? So, I thought why not add a third element to this combination: people.

I would like to introduce some cool scientists who travel as a part of their job. Besides giving a personal touch to my blog, I think it would also be great to showcase scientists outside the lab. Give a makeover to their ‘lab-coat-wearing-glass-tube-handling-nerd’ image. In fact, very recently, a stereotypical comment that scientists are not the outdoorsy type sparked off a grand showcase of “Outdoorsy scientists” posting their in-action pictures on Twitter. I am very excited that some of these cool people also agreed to be featured on my blog!

So, let’s learn together from the brains (and brawns) behind field studies about their work and stereotypes associated with it. If you want to be featured in this series or have a recommendation, feel free to drop me a message. Enjoy!
